Norşuntepe, Kebun area in the Upper Euphrates (Turkey), Elazığ is located approximately 25 km away. The top of the hill had an area of about 500 m to 300 m, where traces of settlements could be detected by archaeologists. During the Iron Age, it was found that there were 40 settlement layers from different periods such as Late Chalcolithic (4,000-3,000 BC) in all phases of the Bronze Age until the Urartian settlement. The excavations in Norsuntepe were led by Heidelberg Prehistory and Early History professor Harald Hauptmann. Made by archaeologists from the German Archaeological Institute. The fieldwork was completed in 1974 due to the construction of the Keban Dam and the rise of the water level. Comment | Tag | Share Read Conscious Articles on our website. Link in Bio.
