Telmessos ancient city, named after Telmessos, son of Apollo (Fethiye, Muğla)

It is one of the important ancient cities of the Lycian Region.

Fethiye is famous for its rock tombs worth seeing. These rock tombs are monumental tombs built for people with high status in the community. Temple-type tombs are those made for people who are called God King. The most famous and magnificent of these is undoubtedly the rock tomb, which is described as Hermapios son Amintas Tomb.

On the front facade of the Amintas Rock Tomb specific to the Lycian Region, there are two columns in Ionic order among the carriers attached to the wall. Amintas Rock Tomb is an indicator of the creativity of Lycian architects of the period. There were stone beds in the interior of the grave where the dead were placed. In the inscription found in Amintas Rock Tomb, the name of Hermapias's son Amintas is mentioned. This magnificent monumental tomb built by carving a single piece of rock BC. It is dated to the 4th century.

This is the Chatillion Car Graveyard, which was one of the world’s largest abandoned car graveyards. It was left untouched for over 70 years.

According to an urban legend the cars were left behind by US soldiers from the Second World War after they were unable to ship them back, they decided to leave them in a forest until they could come back and retrieve them. Some locals however disagree, saying that it’s simply and old car dump of vehicles left after WW2.

In 2010 the entire site had to be cleared due to environmental issues.
