It is one of the important ancient cities of the Lycian Region.

Fethiye is famous for its rock tombs worth seeing. These rock tombs are monumental tombs built for people with high status in the community. Temple-type tombs are those made for people who are called God King. The most famous and magnificent of these is undoubtedly the rock tomb, which is described as Hermapios son Amintas Tomb.

On the front facade of the Amintas Rock Tomb specific to the Lycian Region, there are two columns in Ionic order among the carriers attached to the wall. Amintas Rock Tomb is an indicator of the creativity of Lycian architects of the period. There were stone beds in the interior of the grave where the dead were placed. In the inscription found in Amintas Rock Tomb, the name of Hermapias's son Amintas is mentioned. This magnificent monumental tomb built by carving a single piece of rock BC. In fact, there are two stairs, one has 99 steps and a second one has 76 steps. There’s also a 225-foot (69 m) hardly lit tunnel through which you’ll have to go. The tunnel is a remnant of the former military use of the crater. So you should be in good physical condition to do the hike. But it’s definitely worth the effort once you reach the top, after about 30-40 minutes if you’re in good shape. The view is spectacular, especially on a clear and sunny day.

This is the Chatillion Car Graveyard, which was one of the world’s largest abandoned car graveyards. It was left untouched for over 70 years.

According to an urban legend the cars were left behind by US soldiers from the Second World War after they were unable to ship them back, they decided to leave them in a forest until they could come back and retrieve them.
